Jigsaw Puzzles/The Plan For Our Lifes
Our walk with the Lord reminds me of jigsaw puzzles. God starts us all out with the large size pieces of only 100 pieces. Because the pieces are so large it goes together extremely fast! Just as in the early days of our walk the things God speaks to us (if we follow instructions) come together very fast. As we mature in our walk the Lord begins to trust us with a larger picture, with 1000s of small pieces that will take some time for the picture to be completed.
Our guide in life to obtain the full picture God has for us comes from obeying what He has spoken to us (no short cuts) and our manual is reading the Word daily. As the days, week, and years go on we see clearer and clearer the picture.
There are times we must go back to the Father or His Word or both to refresh our vision. Just as in doing a 1000 piece puzzle, our guide is the picture on the box. We continually refer to the picture on the box as we work at this. We start with putting the frame work (outside pieces) together first. That's our borders just as God's word is our borders in our walk. Then we start to build the body of the picture-- again referring to the finished picture on the box. In the spiritual we go back to God for a refreshing. Sometimes the picture is so vast, so complex that we get overwhelmed. We tire, we walk away and say forget it. But just like the vision God gives us in our hearts we are compelled to go back and finish it. God understands we get tired on the way, that our vision gets cloudy. But He is waiting to restore and refresh your vision so that you will succeed in all He's spoken.
Jeremiah 29:11 says- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Never be afraid to go to the Father and tell Him you can't see clear. Don't try to make the picture come to past any other way but the way God has spoken! It won't function to perfection. Just like a person who gives up on the jigsaw puzzle, some try to force pieces into place, some get angry and throw pieces away and say it still looks okay. But the truth is everyone will clearly see the picture is not perfect-- it has problems and it doesn't become what it was intended to be.
Just as with God's plan for us-- some get tired on the way and try so hard to short cut the instructions God has given them. It may appear to work or look okay but in your heart you know you skipped some pieces and eventually the vision that YOU caused to appear just isn't satisfying-- just is wearing you out to maintain it.
Sooner or later you'll throw up your hands, repent, and ask God to help you restore the vision.
Sometimes we leave out so many pieces or cut them to fit that even with God' help in restoration there will always be a tiny flaw that only you and God know about.
So let God give you the clear picture-- let Him direct you and follow through with all He tells you no matter how long it takes. Let the vision become a Masterpiece!
Masterpieces are not done over night-- some take years. But OH how beautiful the Masterpiece is when it's totally completed to perfection! God loves us so much and He wants us to obtain all He's spoken to us-- but remember there are no short cuts-- there is only God's way!
