Priest and Prophet of the Home

The Priest and Prophet of the home is a position that is vacant in many Christian homes today. It's a valuable position that needs to be in place to have a strong and healthy marriage and home.

The Priest in biblical times had many duties from offering sacrifices to teaching the law. Being a mediator between man and man; and God and man.

In the home the office of Priest is the husband; the head of the woman (1 Cor. 11:3; Eph. 5:23). He acts as Priest when he takes the lead in spiritual matters-- as to what church to attend, finding leadership from God in natural problems and so forth. The husband's first act of Priesthood of the home should be as Joshua's was "But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

The prophet was one who heard direction from God and spoke blessings, judgments, and instruction from the Lord. The Prophet of the home seeks the face of God in all matters pertaining to the home. The Prophet is a man who must have God first and foremost in his life. He most be in daily communication with God interceding for his family.

Granted some men don't take these two position because of ignorance of what God expects of them or in rare cases the woman thinks she' more spiritual so she pushes the man out of his office. Of course that's rebellion to God's will but none the less some women forget the order of God. The best thing a woman can ever do for her husband and family is to know her position. She needs to learn to call upon God to make her husband the Priest and Prophet of the home. Intercede for the husband everyday and wait on God to awaken him to his duties.

Learn to be at peace in your position as under the headship of the husband. It's a safe place-- a peaceful place if you let God show you why He set the family in this order. It doesn't mean you never hear from God or can speak what God has laid on your heart. Just learn to do it in God's will, with great love and kindness.

It can be obtained to have your husband as Priest and Prophet over your home. It takes time but oh--- what a blessing it will be!
