Believing is Not Enough
Believeth in God is not enough to take you to heaven.
James 2:19 states: "Thou believeth that there is one God' thou doest well; the devils also believe and tremble." Satan knows and believes in God. He knows that God is God and always will be God. In all his believing he still comes up with the same future-- hell damnation for all eternity.
Your believing in God must be combined with faith and works (or acting on your faith). Hebrews 11:6 states: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him".
Diligently seeking means to show perseverance and application in whatever is undertaken-- to pursue with painstaking effort. So this diligent seeking of God is going to be your occupation, your career, your very heartbeat! Your very reason for being.
Some believe that as long as they believe in God that they are saved. Romans 10:9-10 speaks of confessing the Lord Jesus Christ. That is acting on what you believe in your heart. After the acting on you faith of believeth in Christ as the one and only begotten Son of God the seeking continues. Seeking for God's will for your life. Seeking for all God has to offer His children. Diligently seek everyday-- seek in prayer, seek in His word, seek by choosing to be in the house of God to hear the word of God exhorted on by the anointed servant of God.
Hearing the Word brings faith that you can and should act upon.
Don't be foolish and just hear the Word only. Without acting on the Word (works) then it's fruitless and useless.
Take God at His Word-- believe and act on what He has spoken! Be a receiver of all the rewards that are due the child of God who diligently seeks God! Don't be shy about the things of God-- God takes great pleasure with His children that believe and receive all He has in store for His own.
Put works with your believing and feel the SMILE of God on your life!
